Who We Are
Resonance Extra is a pioneering new digital radio platform launched in December 2015, available on DAB to listeners in Central Brighton and online to the rest of the world. Dedicated foremost to the global artistic community and with a focus on long–form international music programming and sonic experimentation, Resonance Extra exists to mobilise diverse and emergent communities of sound artists, musicians, broadcasters, academics and expert curators.

Resonance Extra is licensed by Ofcom to broadcast via Small Scale DAB in Brighton & Hove, United Kingdom (how to listen). You can also listen online at extra.resonance.fm and directly using this link. Resonance Extra is also available via Radioplayer and TuneIn.

In 2016 Resonance Extra was awarded £25,000 by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation for its Strands project which aims to support the realisation of radio art work of thirty one emerging artists under the age of 28. Ongoing opportunities for new or established radio-makers are outlined in our ongoing Open Call. We encourage programme-makers of all levels of experience to get in touch. We are particularly interested in sound and radio artworks, experimentation with sound and coverage of experimental music scenes with a strong regional or global focus.
